Friends of Wilderness Battlefield invite you to join them on 27 April at 1 PM at the Wilderness Winery for a talk by noted local historian Michael E. Block. Mike is the author of the book "The Carnage Was Fearful, The Battle of Cedar Mountain". The book is part of the Emerging Civil War Series of books published by Savas Beatie publishing.
Mike will be presenting some interesting facts and stories concerning the Overland Campaign in May of 1864. His talk will be in preparation for the re-enactment of The Battle of the Wilderness on its 160th Anniversary on 4 and 5 May at the Wilderness Winery. Come out to hear Mike speak and them join us the following weekend for the battle re-enactment.
Please note that this event is outdoors, and you may wish to bring a comfortable lawn chair with you, and wear shoes suitable for walking outside.
